ATM Compatible RAM, Ideal for Windows Upgrades

ATM Parts Co Ltd, a division of Acal’s IT Parts Services group, announces the launch of the ATM-RAM102, a newly developed RAM solution to minimize PC100 RAM compatibility issues in ATM memory upgrades.

The ATM-RAM102 has been devised to minimize the PC memory compatibility issues normally associated with desktop PCs when upgrading ATMs to run with windows, when based on the NCR Phantom or PELE 2 motherboards.

The ATM-RAM102 is a 256MB PC100 128pin DIMM that allows Banks and their maintainers to strive for a ‘One module fits all’ solution. The ATM-RAM102 is ‘plug and play’ and therefore does not require ‘matched pairs’, thereby allowing the existing RAM investment e.g. 64/128/256MB to be ‘sweated’ further.

The impact of the ATM-RAM102 is to facilitate the following benefits:

• Reduce the number of RAM modules required to upgrade an estate to Windows.
• Maintenance stock can be optimized by reducing the number of RAM modules held in inventory.
• Reduce duplicate stock and capital employed.
• Optimise warehouse utilization.
• Speeds up an estate RAM upgrade installation program and thereby reducing the time that the ATM is out of service.

ATM Parts Co operate globally from their dedicated 30,000 square foot European Distribution Centre in Camberley, England, housing both the central logistics facility and an Engineering Centre of Excellence.
